Darkhorse Golf Club Awarded Prestigious Top 100 Nationwide Award For 3rd Consecutive Year.
AUBURN, Calif. (December 10, 2010) – Golf Week Magazine has recognized DarkHorse Golf Club as one of the Top 100 Nationwide Golf Courses in their Residential category.
In the most recent ranking of golf courses in the nation, Golf Week Magazine includes DarkHorse as part of an exclusive list of prime golf courses such as Castle Pines Golf Club in Castle Rock, CO, and The Preserve in Carmel Valley CA. The ranking is published in the November 2010 issue of the magazine currently on newsstands.
“We are thrilled to have this honor” said Empire Golf Inc. CEO Rod Metzler “Our team takes great pride in offering the best golf experience, both in course conditions and service, at DarkHorse. To have DarkHorse in the top 100 is a testament to the dedication of our staff and ownership.”
DarkHorse is a par 72 course, covering nearly 7,100 yards from the championship tees. 5 set of tees offer a scenic challenge for players of all ability levels. The course opened in 2002 and was designed by famed golf course architect Keith Foster.
DarkHorse lies in Auburn in the Sierra Nevada foothills, about 50 miles east of Sacramento. The course, a Keith Foster design, is wrapped in the quintessential California landscape of oak studded, rolling hills and features magnificent elevation changes. Holes are gently placed into the curving valleys on the site; the greens are subtly contoured; the bunkers are strategically placed and offer a variety of different shot making opportunities.
DarkHorse is owned by the Owens Financial Group, and operated by Empire Golf Inc. a Rancho Murieta based golf operations company celebrating its 25th year in 2011. For more information about DarkHorse Golf Club visit www.DarkHorseGolf.com.
